Magical Garden

MAGIC GARDEN

When the the clock strikes midnight the
garden again is alive
It waits each day for this time to arrive

It blooms in perfusion of red blue and green
Among fragrant blossoms strange creatures
are seen

Flitting and dancing in the magical glen
Hidden from view of the world of Men

When fingers of light steal across the sky
The garden then must turn from the human
eye

The bewitching sorcery of the verdant glen
Folds it’s petals once again

To await the chimes announcing midnight
To again display treasures before a coming
of light

But the days of its beauty are now numbered
For greed of Man will soon plow it under

Unaware of what’s sleeping beneath the browned
grass which hides
A world of colors and beauty below it resides

But as with most things of beauty Man does not see
Except for the color of gold for him is the key

What profit can be made is what Man will ask
He’ll sell what he can to the last blade of grass
When the last blade is gone he’ll find he’s then
sold his ass

THE BUSINESS OF DEATH

THE BUSINESS OF DEATH

The cattlemen of the late 19th century murdered homesteaders indiscriminately because they wanted no interference on their grazing lands. They went so far as to lynch a female homesteader they said was a rustler, later proven untrue. If they were so indiscriminate 100+ years ago it shows the mindset of today’s wolf killers who say wolves are causing cattle losses. This is a completely bogus accusation and serves as an excuse to exterminate wolves. They can’t justify their actions and their actions can’t be justified. They have one overriding thread that connects their businesses. They live to kill (cattle for profit) and they kill to live (cattle for profit). Their business is death.

SPOTLESS

SPOTLESS

A cat who is black is sometimes panther called
Thats not his real name but not known to all
His family members are big cats who are spotted and really
It’s easily seen why he’s the black sheep of the family
He’s a leopard but doesn’t show those marks
His coat is handy for lurking in the dark
But he really has spots under the black
If you would care to examine his back
There are lots of spots as you would see
Although if you got closer he’d probably eat thee

A THINKING CAP

A THINKING CAT

There’s a rumor that cats and dogs aren’t Friends
It can be now shown where the rumor ends
My best friend’s a kitten as all can see
He thinks he’s helping by sitting on me
I hold my temper with his silly kitten antics
Playtime with him is really quite frantic
He seems to think he’s a large jungle cat
Could a tiger be hiding under a kitten’s hat
Even if such a thing were true
I have secrets maybe more than a few
I am quite lenient for a dog I suppose
But treats he won’t find without my dog’s nose

A CUFF ON THE EAR

A CUFF ONTHE EAR

Lion Dad slapped the cub on the ear
Out of my way I’m king do you hear
Baby looked at dad In surprised Consternation
What was I doing to earn your indignation
You show no respect when your king is near
You must make way for a king whom you fear
But you’re my dad are you not?
I shouldn’t fear you that’s what I thought
Yes now you’re small I’ll agree
But someday soon it’ll be you cuffing me

THIRD ROCK

THE THIRD ROCK

The third rock from the sun and a few more too
Mars with two moons one more than earth it’s true
Saturn’s not a rock but full of gas
But has rocky rings where they’re from no one asks
Andromeda the Galaxy has spied the Milky Way
And decided it’s time to take it over one day
The two galaxies will in time crash into each other
And when they do it’ll be Star Wars, just dust when it’s over
When this calamitous event is finally history
It might be asked what then is earth’s story
It’ll be just pebbles floating in space
Leaving no trace of a long lost human race
